Objective
Hydrosome Labs contracted with TRI Princeton to show improved skin penetration of Niacinamide in a formulation of Niacinamide + Ultra Pure Water as compared to Niacinamide + Hydrosome H20.
Design
Niacinamide is a common skincare active ingredient used to improve skin resiliency and texture. In this study, Niacinamide was added to both Ultra Pure Water and Hydrosome H20. The two were then introduced to human skin tissue in a Frans Cell system and were allowed to penetrate for 2 hours. Confocal Raman Spectroscopy was used to measure the depth of penetration of the Niacinamide.
Results
The results of this study showed that Niacinamide + Hydrosome H20 penetrated 2-3X deeper into the skin samples vs Niacinamide + Ultra Pure Water.
