Increased Biomass Yield of Filamentous Fungi

Increased Biomass Yield of Filamentous Fungi

Objective
In this proof of concept study with a fermentation partner, the objective was to understand the impact that Hydrosome H2O could have on the growth of filamentous fungi.
Design

Filamentous fungi (Neurospora crassa)in a complex medium was fermented in a shaker flask. One flask contained a medium with DI water and the other contained a medium with Hydrosome H2O. All other conditions were identical. Biomass changes were observed via dry cell mass.

Results

There was a statistically significant higher final biomass level ~8% in the flask containing Hydrosome H2O.
