Improved Hydration in Skincare Formulations

Objective
In this study, Hydrosome Labs collaborated with TRI Princeton, a well respected cosmetics research lab, to understand the effects of Hydrosome H2O on the hydration of human skin samples.
Design

Two skin care formulas were created using either deionized or Hydrosome H2O with a 3% concentration of niacinamide. The two were then introduced to human skin tissue in a Franz Cell system and were allowed to hydrate for 2 hours. Confocal Raman Spectroscopy was used to measure the hydration content throughout the skin sample.

Results
The formulation containing Hydrosome H2O had a significantly higher hydration (water) content on both the surface of the skin and well within the viable epidermis.
